Entrepreneurial self-efficacy (ESE) is the belief that entrepreneurs have in their own ability to begin new ventures. It is an essential part of the entrepreneurial mindset and a good indicator of entrepreneurial intentions and a strong precursor to action. There is a fine line between self-confidence, self-efficacy and arrogance! People with high ESE tend to put in more effort, persist with an idea and persevere with a task more than those people with low levels of self-efficacy. ESE can be heightened through training.
